EPCOT Drinking Around the World

Drink/Eats from around the World Showcase in EPCOT in one spot!

First things first, we start our journey in Mexico (because who are you if you don’t start in Mexico?!) This one should be pretty obvious… it’s margarita time! Now the mexico pavilion has an insane number of tequilas and specialty margaritas to try, but for this Must Try list, I have to go with the Avocado Margarita at La Cava de Tequila. It is definitely a unique-to-EPCOT drink that has all the deliciousness of a classic margarita with the creamy texture of avocado. It’s absolutely a bucket list item, but if this is a little out of your scope, you could always stick with something more classic, like the Frozen Fiesta Margarita at Choza de Margarita. Its a three-tiered treat of mango, strawberry, and lime. No matter if you prefer tangy, sour, or sweet, you’ll find something to love in this refreshing drink!

Next up is Norway! Now, if you weren’t wanting to get a drink in every single country you could potentially skip this pavilion. Norway has some excellent baked goods to try, but in the scope of alcoholic beverages, it’s not super well-stocked. However, if you’re truly trying to drink around the world, a good option for Norway is the Viking Coffee at Kringla Bakeri og Kafe. This drink involves Irish creme, so if that aroma brings back drunken brunches with the girls and coinciding all-day hangovers, maybe avoid it. But, if you’re a fan of that real coffee taste, and love something not too sickly sweet, but still creamy and delicious, this mix is a must-try!

Once out of Norway, we head into China for an adorably-named sweet treat. Tipsy Ducks in Love at the Joy of Tea stand is another coffee-style beverage, but without the Irish creme. It’s smooth texture and sweet, chocolaty flavor makes it the (in my opinion) yummier sibling of Viking Coffee. I am a sweet freak, though, so take that into account when choosing between the two.

Next up is Germany, and when in Germany, do as the Germans do… and drink beer! I believe everyone’s recommendation is the Grapefruit Beer at Sommerfest, probably because it’s so dang refreshing! Let’s be honest, florida is absolutely stifling and EPCOT has little to offer in terms of shade. If you started your journey right at 11 AM, when the World Showcase opens, you’d probably be getting to Germany at the hottest part of the Florida day. A light, refreshing grapefruit beer would absolutely hit the spot, especially after downing two thick, rich coffee drinks.

(DON’T FORGET TO CARB LOAD KIDS! Germany has some lovely carby dishes, like Nudel Gratin or the Giant Pretzel with mustard. They will fill you up, and soak up some of that alcohol. No one wants to see you puking in the trash cans outside of the American Adventure, mmkay?)

Which brings us to the lovely country, Italy! Another refreshing and light beverage to look forward to, is the Peach Bellini Dream at Via Napoli. A classic that you cannot go wrong with, this sweet and fruity …well… dream is all prosecco and peach puree. Talk about a lovely pallet cleanser.

After Italy we head to the Good ‘ol U S of A for the American Adventure. The US pavilion will have all your classic American beers and mixed drinks, so hit those up if you’ve really been dying for a Sam Adams all day. But, if you’d like to drink a unique cocktail, try out the Red Stag Lemonade at Fife and Drum. It’s basically just a bourbon lemonade, but its yummy, tangy flavor will scratch the liquor itch without making you resort to beers you’ve had a hundred times.

(QUICK NOTE: The American Adventure just opened up a new BBQ joint called Regal Eagle Smokehouse, and considering you've had quite a few drinks and very little to eat by this point, its a great place to stop for a nice hearty lunch/dinner!)

Onto the more unique drinks, we head off to Japan for, you guessed it, SAKE! You cannot pass the Japan pavilion without at least attempting to try sake. For some of us… timidly raises hand… it’s the first place we’ve ever felt bold enough to give it a go. EPCOT is home to the famous, and delicious Violet Sake at the Garden House. It’s vibrant color definitely makes it look delicious, and don’t worry, the taste totally matches! It’s a pear and lime juice mixture that ticks off both the sweet and sour boxes. It’s a great first step into the diverse and beautiful world of sake.

Next on our trek is Morocco. This is absolutely a hidden gem when it comes to drinks. Morocco has tons of yummy, fruity cocktails and wines to try. The consensus among avid EPCOT goers, however, is the Tangier’s Breeze at Spice Road Table destroys the competition. The peachy, pineapple cocktail is the exact right balance of tart and sweet. It’s also GORGEOUS to just look at. ogles image below...

After Morocco, we head over to France, the land of my people. (this isn’t “the land”… this is EPCOT…) The top drink to try here is, of course, the Grand Marnier Orange Slush at Les Vins des Chefs de France…. a mouthful. Its again a lovely, refreshing, and sweet beverage, but of course, this is france. So if you’re over cocktails you can’t go wrong with a lovely and light glass of champagne or wine.

Almoooost… almost there. People ‘round here think I’m crazy, but i don’t care.

Second to last on our journey is The United Kingdom, where there’s beer galore. People are pretty split on what to try here. If you’re interested in a cocktail only experience (you know what they say about mixing beer and liquor) I’d stick with the Welsh Dragon at Rose and Crown. It’s a beautifully bright green melon cocktail filled with pineapple and orange juices to create a sweet and refreshing eye-catcher! If you’re looking for a beer option, however, The Rose and Crown offers pub blends, which are a half and half mixture of two signature beers creating a beautiful gradient that tastes as good as it looks! The most popular are The Bumblebee (half Boddingtons and Half Guinness) and The Black and Tan (Half Bass Ale and Half Guinness) but they have tons of combinations to choose from.

And lastly, we head off to Canada! Sadly, the last leg of our journey ends in a not so interesting note. This is another country you could potentially skip if, by now, you are completely sloshed. But, if you want to finish semi-strong, try an Ottawa Apple cocktail at the Maple Popcorn Stand. It’s exactly what it sounds like: an apple-infused cocktail with Crown Royal, maple, and Cranberry Juice. It’s a pretty, balanced little drink, but my main reason for hitting up this stand will always be the unique and tasty popcorn it offers. YUMM!

If you’ve made it this far, I applaud you. I feel like so many of us attempt the drink around the world only to give up halfway through. No matter if you complete this journey in a single afternoon or spread it out over a week, all of these drinks are totally worth a try. Let me know how you guys fair, and which are your favorites over on my instagram!
